WaveComputers Help Tip Spam Filtering: TeamOrb provides e-mail processing and delivery services to its own clients and to other Internet Service Providers. E-mail passing through our system is filtered by our server using SpamAssassin 2.6.1 ported to Win32 using CGPSA-Version: 1.2.7. For more information on SpamAssassin, click here. Spam Filter Configuration: There are several ways to configure how to further process items marked as spam by our filtering software. Processing rules fall into two basic categories - server-side rules (under which e-mail is processed by our server before delivery to you) and client-side rules (under which e-mail is processed on your computer by your mail software after downloading). Below you will find a sample configuration for each type of processing. Server-Side Rules: With server-side rules, you tell our mail server how you want mail marked as spam processed. An example of a server-side rule, in which suspect mail is moved from your Inbox to a special Spam mailbox for later viewing, follows:
Whitelisting: If you do not want your e-mail processed by our filtering software, please write to blacklist-admin@teamorb.net and asked to be placed on our "whitelist". If you are added to this list, e-mail specifically addressed to you will not be filtered and will arrive to you from the original sender in its original form, regardless of its source or content. Please note that some spam producers use long mailing lists to send out bulk, junk e-mail. If your e-mail address is on one of these lists, but not first address on the list, our software will continue to mark it as ***SPAM*** prior to delivery to you. This type of unsolicited, bulk e-mail violates our Acceptable Use Policies. Our suggestion is that you simply delete all such e-mail upon receipt. There are many other variations on how to configure your rules for e-mail. Contact blacklist-admin@teamorb.net or your ISP with questions or comments. |
